ASUS ZenFone Zoom S Launches in Europe in July
The ASUS ZenFone Zoom S (ZE553KL) smartphone will be making its way over to European country this month, according to current reports. ASUS will be offering the ZenFone Zoom S for €469, and it’s the slightly higher-end variant than what is available in the US. The device has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, compared to the 3GB/32GB that is sold in the US. The Asus ZenFone Zoom S is also known as the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom in the United States; it seems that it will be rebranded to the ZenFone Zoom S for the European market as well as in Asia – where it was already published.
ASUS’ ZenFone Zoom S is its variant of the ZenFone 3 with a dual-camera. As reversed to the original Asus ZenFone Zoom that it released a couple of years ago, it doesn’t have an original lens that zooms. Rather, ASUS is using a setup similar to Apple’s iPhone 7 smartphone. It uses two 12-MP sensors, one is a 25mm with a f/1.7 aperture and the other camera with a 59mm and f/2.8 aperture technology for zooming. The camera can do up to 2.3x optical zoom and up to 10x. Around the frontside, there is a 13-MP sensor for taking all selfies. ASUS has also included a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display with the Snapdragon 625. ASUS also include a large 5,000mAh battery under the hood, which should keep the Asus ZenFone Zoom S going all day long.
Asus ZenFone Zoom S should be launching with Android Nougat, even though it was stated in January 2017 (as the ZenFone 3 Zoom) with Android Marshmallow OS. ASUS is assigning out the Nougat update this month, so with the release starting in July for Europe, it should be running Android Nougat which will make this smartphone to pick up, particularly if you are one who likes to have a smartphone with a great camera – particularly one that can really zoom in when you need it. Currently, there is no report on which countries will get the Asus ZenFone Zoom S, and there is also no word on which retailers will be offering the handset, but it should cost around €469, which is a quite high price for what is mostly a mid-range smartphone.
